The pear tree is a deciduous fruit tree. Depending on the pruning it can easily reach 5-6m in height and 3-4m in diameter. It can live up to at least 30 years. It bears fruit in its 4th- 5th year, depending on the vigor of the tree and the variety of the pear.

The pear tree has whitish or pale pink flowers which resemble those of the apple.

The soil should be light and cool while clay soils are detrimental to the development of the tree. When there is not enough moisture or rainfall then you need to water it because the tree is sensitive to drought.
