The Apricot tree

The apricot is a deciduous tree with a roundish shape and flattened several branches. The leaves are broad egg or heart -shaped, glossy on the upper surface and bearing glands and Stipules on the stalk. The flowers are male and female and are white or light pink, grow alone or in pairs.

The most suitable areas for its cultivation is of average composition and fine structure. When there is a strong and sudden cold or frost, then the flowers are destroyed although the trees are resistant to very low temperatures. High temperatures also cause damage to the fruit. The trees need good watering during the flowering period.
